Who said nails were easy?

OMG, I never even gone through the pedicure chapter. But, I was being asked to perform on for a client. I was actually okay, till she said I didn't get her baby toe to look good...Uh, she had NO pinky toe! It was all thick, brown, and soft mushy. And she wanted me to get it to look normal?? I know you can't please everyone, but some people have a very unrealistically expectations. What do you do? That's the name of the game. This will make me work even harder, and really learn nails. For this is what I am going to school for...I just need to see what I will specialize in...

Shampooing, Rinsing, and Conditioning

Well tomorrow we are having our test. Like I said yesterday, there is more then meets the eye, when it comes to shampooing, condittioners, and rinses. Conditioners are also named Hair Masks, or Reconstructors. You have Protein Treatments, did you know that they actually can make the hair appear fuller? For they attach to the hairs cuticle, and "fill in" the keratin that has been lost from the hair. This really could help me out with alll the Split Ends I am prone to . You also have different strengths to consider here too. Yes, you must look for the right conditioning treatments to put on your hair. Not just any product will do, you can damage your hair with the wrong products, even condtioners. Well, work now, more later. Hope to have enough time to at least scan the chapter on last time before the test.

Wash that Man right outta your Hair

This week in Cosmo School we are on Shampooing . Sounds like it may be simple, right? I mean every one has shampooed their hair. I get they want you to learn how to massage the clients head, while giving a shampoo, body posture so we don't get back aches. There's more....a lot more.
Not just any old shampoo will work on all hair types. There is the pH scale to consider. Is the hair colored, relaxed, permed, dry, oily? All that to know which is the best shampoo for a particular hair type.
Most people don't realize that their shampoo alone can wreck havioc on the hair. We buy whats on sale, or what smells good. There's a discussion going on at school on whether or not Salon Shampoos are really better than some thing you buy off the shelf at Walmart. It all has to do with pH levels, conditioning properties. No wonder we stand in the asile for 20 min. just trying to pick out hair care products.
We are going through the basics of Chemistry later on. I am sure it will go into deeper detail of the pH scale , the ingredents in shampoo, as well as conditioners, and rinses.
In the mean time I have been doing research on the net to get some insider info., as well as getting my own little science experment going by testing shampoos. I think I may ask the teacher if we all bring in a sample of our shampoos for pH testing. That may be a neat class project.
I will let you know how that came out.
